Alex De Ocampo has earned the support of Board of Equalization member Fiona Ma, the campaign announced today. An advocate for reform, fairness, and transparency, Ma believes De Ocampo's perspective is needed in the Assembly.
"Legislators make critical decisions on our state's budget every year. Because of Alex's experience managing $400 million in giving for the Saban Family Foundation, he possesses the skills and judgment needed to be an effective Assemblymember. I fully support his candidacy for Assembly," Ma stated.
Ma is the past Chair of the Board of Equalization and is a Certified Public Tax Accountant. She previously served in the State Assembly where she spearheaded efforts to protect consumers, help California’s working families pay their bills, increase access to quality health care, and provide equal rights for all.
"I'm honored to have the support of Board of Equalization member Fiona Ma. She has been a warrior for working families, and an advocate for accountability and fairness. In the Assembly, I will follow the example she set by fighting to insure our progressive values are reflected in the state budget,” stated De Ocampo.
